Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about NDSU Giving Day 2024.

What is NDSU Giving Day?

NDSU Giving Day is an online fundraising event that brings together NDSU alumni, students, and many other supporters of the University. It is an opportunity to make a lasting impact at NDSU by making an online donation at ndsugivingday.com. Funds raised during NDSU Giving Day support student scholarships and a wide range of educational priorities across the University.

Why should I give to North Dakota State University?

Your generosity will support educational priorities that set NDSU students apart and help prepare them for real-world success. NDSU Giving Day donors also support scholarships, making an NDSU education possible for talented students who are limited only by their financial resources.

How can I get involved?

We encourage all NDSU alumni, friends, students, and staff/faculty to make a gift on NDSU Giving Day to the area of campus they are most passionate about. Gifts received between 8 a.m. on Dec. 3 and 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 counts toward our Giving Day goals of $1.5 million raised by 2,000 donors in 2,500 gifts! On Giving Day, every gift makes a difference to NDSU.

Just as important as giving a gift is sharing your NDSU story. What is your connection to the University or its people? What programs or student groups made you who you are today? What made your time at NDSU special? Who in your life is impacted by the far-reaching impact of NDSU? Tell your followers! In preparation for Giving Day, share your story on social media or send a text or email to a friend or former classmate and encourage them to share their story and give!

What areas of the University can I support?

The NDSU Giving Day website, ndsugivingday.com, will offer many funding options among the University’s academic Colleges, departments, and programs. Giving is easy and a great way for donors to support areas of the University that they are most passionate about.

What are Matches and Challenges?

A challenge incentivizes donors to meet a certain fund-raising goal in order to trigger a major donor’s gift.

Example: 200 gifts to a specific fund unlocks $2,500 from a donor.

A match is a form of challenge whereby a donor agrees to match other cash gifts up to a set amount of money.

Example: A donor will match dollar for dollar up to $2,500 to a specific fund.

Can donors make a gift by phone or regular mail?

Because NDSU Giving Day only lasts 1,890 minutes, you are encouraged to make gifts online to help your gift count toward the Giving Day goals. However, from 8:00 a.m. CST to 5:00 p.m., donors can call 800-279-8971 to make a gift. Making a gift by mail is still a great way to support NDSU, but it would not impact our NDSU Giving Day results.

Can I use payroll deduction for my Giving Day donation?

Yes! Payroll deductions can be used to support NDSU on Giving Day. The entire amount of the payroll deduction will count toward the campaign’s results whether it’s a one-time or a recurring deduction. https://ndsufoundation.com/payroll-deduction-form-giving-day

Is it safe to make a gift online?
